CA Sri Lanka Degree Programme
Welcome to the CA Sri Lanka School of Accounting and Business (SAB) The School of Accounting and Business has been established by CA Sri Lanka for the purpose of conducting the B.Sc. (Applied Accounting) Degree programme, which is approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC). The SAB functions under the overall responsibility of the Council of CA Sri Lanka and consists of two academic departments namely the Department of Accounting and Finance and the Department of Business Studies. The B.Sc. (Applied Accounting) Degree Programme The main objective of the B.Sc. (Applied Accounting) Degree programme is to create employable graduates with the required skills, competencies and industry knowledge to fulfill a successful accounting career. Upon completion, the student will gain extensive knowledge and required skills in accounting practices, as this is the only degree programme in Sri Lanka that enables students to gain knowledge in the field of ‘Applied Accounting’ The B.Sc. (Applied Accounting) Degree programme is designed under two stages where students can either complete; · B.Sc. (Applied Accounting) General Degree - within a period of 3 years (6 semesters) OR · B.Sc. (Applied Accounting) Special Degree -within a period of 4 years (8 semesters). After successful completion of the B.Sc. (Applied Accounting) General Degree programme, students have the opportunity to proceed with the B.Sc. (Applied Accounting) Special Degree by completing the extra courses within another two semesters over a period of one year. The medium of instruction will be English. Entry Requirements · Passes in three subjects (in any subject stream) at the GCE Advanced Level (Sri Lanka) examination with a minimum mark of 30% for the Common General Paper in one attempt OR · Passes in four subjects (in any subject stream) at the GCE Advanced Level (Sri Lanka) examination (under old syllabus) in one attempt OR · Any foreign qualification equivalent to GCE Advanced Level Examination in Sri Lanka as approved by the University Grants Commission of Sri Lanka AND · Good Performance at the English proficiency placement test and the interview. |
